You will visit the Kremlin and the Red Square, see the intricate works of the House of Faberge, the royal jewellers of the Russian tsars, take a high-speed ride on the Sapsan train between the two capitals, and breathe in the unmistakable spirit of the life in the old and the new capitals of Russia.
The Kremlin and the Red Square
The Moscow Kremlin is the largest fortress in Russia, the main symbol of the country, and the place from which the future capital began to be built in the 12th century. For centuries, this inner city was the residence of princes, the center of spiritual and political life.
The Kremlin has twenty towers, each with its own name and history. Can you climb to the top of each one?
Besides, inside the walls you will find more than a fair share of sights to behold, including the famous Russian symbols the Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell – incredibly large specimens of their respective families, which, ironically, have never seen use.
In the Red Square before the Kremlin you will find not a small amount of points of interest. Maybe you would like to see the uniquely preserved mummy of the first Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin in his mausoleum? Or visit the Historical Museum nearby? The central luxury store of Moscow, GUM, also overwatches the square. Whichever is your preference, you will find something to your liking.
The VDNKh expo
The expo caters to both adults and children, so one can safely assume it will be a fun day for the entire family visiting it.
There are a number of pavilions, but the most interesting and unique is arguably the Buran spacecraft. Inside the model of the legendary rocket plane “Buran BTS-001”, tourists watch a documentary, get acquainted with interesting details from pictures, look at the command compartment with instruments and the astronaut’s chair, and even try themselves in the role of a pilot landing the ship at the cosmodrome.
It is also great to attend the Cinema Museum (pavilion No. 36). Dedicated to chronicling Russian cinema from the 1890s to the decline of the USSR, interactive attractions create the effect of an unusual immersion in history. The key part of the exhibition is Sergey Eisenstein’s office with personal belongings, books and furniture of the great director.
The Sapsan high-speed train
Your visit to Russia will not be exciting just when you are observing the sights in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also on the road between them. They are connected by a high-speed railroad on which the Sapsan train operates. It is a modern and comfortable ride that will let you immerse into the more up-close aspects of Russian nature than taking a plane would.
The Petrovskaya Akvatoria Museum
St. Petersburg is a relatively young city, built by the Russian emperor Peter I. Therefore, we have a lot of data on how exactly it was put together and grew.
This museum provides a look just into that: the history of Petersburg’s foundation and development. You will see impressive scale models of the city during the different stages of its life, complete with interactive elements that will definitely appeal to both kids and grownups!
Nevsky Prospekt
Nevsky Prospekt is the central avenue of St. Petersburg, which has in its time seen many famous Russian as well as foreign artists and writers – who, in their turn, immortalized it in their works. It is hard even nowadays not to feel like a character from Dostoevsky’s or Gogol’s stories while walking this picturesque street. Our special tour will take you around the most important places of Nevsky Prospekt and show it to you in its utmost glory.
