The Big Yarovoye Lake

Just like the Dead Sea in Israel, the Big Yarovoye possesses a rather unique composition that allows using its waters and mud in balneotherapy.

The Archeopark

A must-see for all lovers of prehistoric animals. The Archeopark is located not far from the city of Samara and depicts ancient extinct mammals such as the wooly mammoth, the cave lion, the European bison, etc. in life-size.

Vyborg

Vyborg is a city that can be accessed after an hour drive from St. Petersburg. Originally founded by the Swedes, it was captured by the Russians in the 18th century. Nowadays, it truly reflects Peter the Great’s ambition of cutting a window between Russia and Europe, as it remains an example of Western architecture and atmosphere even to this day.

The Tower of Nevyansk

The Russian equivalent of the Tower of Pisa is situated in the city of Nevyansk. Just like its Italian sister, it stands with a clearly visible tip. The reason for it is unknown, but a local legend says it was a planned feature. Seeing the result of the architect’s work, the commissioner asked him if another tower like this could be built. When the builder said it could, the rich merchant who had paid for the construction pushed him off the tower so that only he would possess such a wonder in Russia
