Weekend in Moscow: What to See

So, you have got a visa to Russia and are now preparing to go visit that country. Sounds great, doesn’t it? However, you are running on limited time and can’t stay there for too long. Let’s say, all you have is just a weekend but want to see as much of Moscow as you can.

As an experienced visa provider, Smart Travel has an answer to your problem! Read on to learn all about the best sights you can see without exceeding the time you can spare.

the Red Square

The first and main one of them is, without a doubt, the Red Square. This is what springs to anybody’s mind when they hear Moscow or even Russia. This is the symbol of political and cultural power of the country, and besides, it is just a very nice place to look at.

On one side of it, you have St. Basil’s Cathedral, which is a famous and iconic structure on its own. On the other one, there sits the Historical Museum.

If you are a history aficionado, our recommendation is to visit it, but be careful – it’s easy to lose track of time while admiring the exhibitions.

the Kremlin

The main attraction on the Red Square, though, is the Kremlin. Realistically, it can take a few days to properly visit and explore, but since we don’t have this much time, we will have to compromise. But worry not – we have just a few pieces of advice you can follow.

The most unusual sights to see within the Kremlin are the Tsar Cannon and the Tsar Bell. These enormous items provide an excellent opportunity for taking pictures.

While in the Kremlin, also be sure to visit the Armory that contains plenty of rare and interesting historical items.

Panorama360

Leaving the heart of Moscow, let us travel to the best viewing platform in the city, Panorama360. Located at the top of the Federation Tower, it allows for truly magnificent photos and views. Almost the entire city can be observed from this point.

Additionally, you can visit the ice cream museum that is situated right there or opt for a more substantial dinner in one of the numerous restaurants in the vicinity of the tower.

The Cathedral Mosque

To all Muslims as well as people interested in Islam we recommend visiting the Cathedral Mosque. Being one of the tallest mosques in Europe, it is a very fascinating sight to behold. Be sure to enter it, as its interior rivals the exterior in beauty.

the Mosfilm Museum

If you like cinema, the Mosfilm Museum is for you. Here, you will see many props and sets used in famous Soviet movies and just get insight into the inner workings of the movie industry in general.
