Today, we will tell you about the best sights to see and places to visit in the UK based on our experience as well as that of our satisfied customers.
The London Eye
The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, is an enormous Ferris wheel that reaches 135 meters. The movement speed is relatively low, so it will take about half an hour to complete a full circle.
The attraction is absolutely safe: British Airways participated in its development, which is a testament in and of itself. Each booth, of which there are only 32 (the number of suburbs of the UK capital) is a closed capsule, from which it is impossible to fall out. From a height you can see all areas of London, the Ferris wheel itself is also visible from almost everywhere.
Stonehenge
One of the most famous prehistoric monuments in Europe, this grandiose heap of stone megaliths weighing up to 45 tons, surrounded by beautiful nature, is simply mesmerizing. It is interesting that scientists do not have a common opinion about the purpose of this structure, as there are only assumptions.
It is not clear how people could create something like this, because in order to arrange these stone columns, it would take several centuries. It is worth coming here, just to touch the history, to be surprised by the grandeur of the construction. The monument also belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located 130 km from the capital.
The Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey
This stunning modern mosque built 15 years ago is one of the largest mosques in Western Europe. Construction cost approximately 5.5 million pounds. The mosque can accommodate up to 6,000 believers. On September 26, 2015, a major fire broke out in the administrative part of the mosque complex, which caused serious damage. The reconstruction of the mosque began in January 2017.
As of this day, Baitul Futuh is open for worshippers and holds regular sermons.
Loch Ness
Home of the purported cryptid monster, Loch Ness is one of the largest lakes in the British Isles.
Those who are interested in objects more factual than the monster that may live in the lake are advised to see the dilapidated Urquhart Castle nearby, whose surviving buildings date back to the 14th century. This is one of the largest and most famous fortresses in Scotland, which repeatedly passed from one clan to another and was abandoned to its fate in the 17th century.
Giant’s Causeway
We can safely say that the Giant’s Causeway is a typical Irish landmark. Ireland, including Northern Ireland which is part of the UK, is always associated with something mysterious, magical, mystical, and at the same time carefree fun.
This bizarre combination is reflected by stone pillars that go into the ocean, the origin of which is explained, of course, by an ancient legend.
